
Pachacamac, 30 kms south of Lima, was formerly the most important religious place of the central coast of Peru that still maintains temples dating from four different periods of pre-Inca and Inca history. Pucusana is a small fishing district 60kms south of Lima and home to a variety of wildlife such as sea lions, pelicans, peruvian boobies, cormorants, inca terns and even the elusive Humboldt Penguins (the only penguin species in Peru!).

Itinerary:
Pick up at the hotel and drive to Pachacamac. Upon arrival, we´ll visit the site museum where we´ll see, among other treasures, the exact replica of Pachacamac (The most important God in the central coast of Peru). After we´ll explore (hop on/hop off) the temple of the Sun and other intriguing religious and administrative buildings. Next, we´ll continue our drive south to Pucusana to have lunch in front of the “Devil´s Mouth”, a 50m eroded opening on the rock created by crashing waves.
Later, we´ll walk to the dock with its colorful boats and the market with an interesting diversity of fish and seafood. After, we´ll board a small fishing boat and experience a very unique ride around the so-called “Galapagos Islands”, a wildlife refuge close to Lima.
What to bring: Comfortable clothes and shoes, hat, sunscreen, binoculars and camera.
