Trek & Fish in the Lares Valley 5D/4N

A beautiful traditional town, colorful, and full of breath-taking landscapes can be found in the Valley of Lares. Lagoons appear suddenly from behind giant mountains capped by glaciers and llamas and alpacas graze the surrounding hills. Guided by children and sometimes accompanied by women with their colorful skirts and braids in their hair, a true taste of traditional Andean dress...

This trek will leave you with unforgettably wonderful memories.

The steps are high, the nights are cold and the clear evening skies ablaze with stars. Spend a few days surrounded by the pure magic of the Andes and it’s people in the Lares Valley, a unique and spectacular cultural experience encompassed by nature.

Día 1:

Pick up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer to the town of Huaran in the Sacred Valley, where the trek will commence. We will walk for approximately 3 hours to our lunch site where we rest for about 2 hours and then continue walking for 3 more hours to the first camp- site in the village of Cancha Cancha.

Día 2: We will leave the campsite early in the morning and continue trek- king up through the valley to the first lagoon where we will spend the rest of the day. After a full day of fishing and walking around this beautiful lake, the camps will be waiting with some hot drinks and, if the weather permits, a campfire to end the day.

Día 3:

The day begins with a 2-hour trek that will lead us through our first mountain pass, surrounded by incredible scenery. Afterward, there will be a further 2 hours trekking until the lunch stop just on the edge of our next fishing spot, Quishuarani Lake (Hatuncocha). Our camp- site will be assembled while you are fishing.

Día 4:

We will start fishing early in the morning before breakfast. After breakfast there will be an opportunity to fish for a couple more hours before trekking for about one hour. Our transport will be wait- ing there to take us to the renowned Lares hot springs, where we will have lunch and enjoy the medicinal water. In the afternoon we will travel to the hotel In Ollantaytambo.

Día 5: (optional, not included in rates):

We will take the train to Aguas Cali- entes (the town below Machu Picchu) and visit the sanctuary of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon, we will return to the town of Ollan- taytambo, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.

Machu Picchu guided tour and back to Cusco

Very early morning, accompanied by our guide, we take a 25 minute bus ride to the sanctuary of Machupicchu (2400m / 7874ft). Our guide will lead us in an exploration and discovery of the many curious corners within the enigmatic Citadel. The guided tour will have an average duration of 2 hours. Afterwards, you will still have some time to visit other places that you did not see with your guide. For example, heading west from the center of Machu Picchu, the Inca bridge is a 30 minute / 2 Km or so walk along a narrow path. If you feel like an uphill challenge, you have the option to climb the infamous mountain of Huayna Picchu.

It is important to mention that to climb this mountain, you need to buy a separate ticket in advance. Please confirm that you want to make this climb at the time of making your booking with us. There are only 2 entrance times: 7 or 10 in the morning. The trail consists of many steep narrow steps (not recommended for people who suffer vertigo), the height of the mountain is 2700m / 8858ft (the climb is 300 m.)

At the end of our visit we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then board the train to return to Ollantaytambo where our private transport will be waiting to take us back to the city of Cusco.
