Transfer from the airport to our main office in town.

Upon arrival to Pto. Maldonado City, our Transfer or guide will welcome you and drive you for a few minutes to our office in town. In the office we recommend you pack only the necessary stuff you need for the next four days, the main luggage can stay at our safe deposit. Transportation is easier that way.

To ensure the efficiency of our boat operations and porter services, we offer the option of utilizing a duffel bag from our office. This step helps to keep cargo weight manageable and enhances your overall travel experience.

We embark on a picturesque journey along the Tambopata River, gently navigating its waters for approximately 2 hours until we reach Finca Sachavacayoc.

During this tranquil voyage, there's the delightful opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for the chance to spot vibrant birds, elusive caimans, graceful capybaras, and playful monkeys – a true treat for nature enthusiasts and animal lovers alike.

Following a brief respite, we'll embark on a jungle walk—an ideal introduction to the natural world, acquainting ourselves with the forest's interior. As night falls, we'll engage in a thrilling nocturnal adventure, searching for elusive creatures such as the remarkable ground bird-eating Tarantula, an astonishing arachnid that can be as large as your hand.

Prepare to witness the extraordinary Chuncho clay-lick, a renowned gathering site for major macaw species and other parrots engaging in the unique behavior of clay consumption, found exclusively in this area.

Our day kicks off at the break of dawn for an unforgettable start at the parrot show. A two-hour boat journey along the Tambopata River brings us to the clay-lick before the birds' busiest period.

After returning to the lodge for a fulfilling lunch, our next adventure takes us to Condenado Lake, just an hour away. This serene location offers remarkable wildlife sightings, including monkeys, caimans, and the spectacular sight of macaws returning to their roosting spots. It's also an opportunity to potentially spot the elusive anaconda in its natural habitat.

As dusk arrives, a calm paddle canoe adventure allows you to gently navigate through the tranquil depths of the jungle, offering glimpses of monkeys in action and the echoing calls of macaws and parrots. Returning to the lodge, a delicious dinner awaits, offering you the chance to unwind and rest.

After breakfast, we'll set out on an expedition to the stunning Lake Sachavacayoc, nestled in the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve. This leisurely two-hour walk from the lodge will immerse us in the rich natural surroundings.

At the lake, diverse wildlife like monkeys, caimans, and the possibility of spotting tapirs await. The Hoatzin birds and vivid macaws nest in the area, creating a unique jungle immersion. We'll swiftly board a paddle canoe to explore the pristine wilderness, where you can absorb the natural wonders amidst the lively calls of monkeys and macaws. A full-day activity with a box lunch allows ample time to search for anacondas and spider monkeys.

During our return journey to the lodge, we'll venture through the dense jungle, providing an opportunity to seek out caimans along the river's edge before dinner. This day promises an exceptional exploration of nature's finest offerings.

It is time to say goodbye, as the expedition comes to an end. In the morning we will take the boat back to civilization, Puerto Maldonado and later we will fly to Cusco!

Welcome to the Andes!

After touching down in Cusco, we’ll be there to meet you at the airport and kick off this epic adventure. From there, we’re hitting the road, heading straight from the city to the jaw-dropping Sacred Valley of the Incas.

First stop: Mountain View—an unreal spot with panoramic Andean scenery that’ll make you want to snap photos all day. We’ll fuel up with a picnic lunch, surrounded by friendly llamas and alpacas, giving you a chance to chill, snap some pics, and connect with these iconic animals of the Andes.

Once we’ve soaked in the views, we’ll head to your cozy hotel nearby, where you can kick back and relax, get settled, and enjoy the peaceful vibe of the mountains before your journey really gets started.

Today we head on a multi-activity experience that blends adventure and culture, using e-bikes to reach a nearby Andean community for an authentic, off-the-beaten-path encounter. The ride up is fun and mellow, with scenic stops along the way to take in the views.

At the top, we’re welcomed by community members who share a glimpse into their daily lives—farming traditions, local customs, and stories from the mountains. A traditional Peruvian lunch rounds out the visit.

From there, we trade wheels for hiking boots and make our way back down to Lamay’s Main Square on foot, taking in the peaceful sounds of nature and the beauty of the valley as we go.

Lamay is also home to Quechua Treks’ base camp—and a cool place to unwind with a cold beer or a refreshing drink after the adventure.

Today, after breakfast, we’ll drive you to Pachar in the heart of the Sacred Valley for a unique, family-friendly mountain adventure. After a safety talk and gear fitting with expert guides, the adventure begins!

We’ll climb 400 meters of via ferrata—a steel-cable climbing route designed for all experience levels. At the top, we’ll pause for a delicious box lunch at the Condor’s Nest, with stunning views all around.

Then, it’s time for the fun descent: a thrilling ride down 6 ziplines ranging from 150 to 700 meters, for a total of 2.4 kilometers of high-flying excitement!

Setting out early, today is spent enroute in our comfortable, private transport to our remote trek start point crossing over in to La Convencion, a neighbouring province of Cusco. The scenery is amazing as we travel Northwest, steadily climbing up to the high pass of Abra Malaga at 4650masl. We then descend into the lower, warmer, much greener tropical growing region of Vilcabamba, or Willkapampa (sacred plain) in Quechua. There will be stops along the way to visit coffee farms, coca farms, cacao farms and have our picnic.

The on-foot part of our journey begins at Huancacalle. Here we have a trek loop to see the fabulously unique and historically thought-provoking White Rock or Ñusta Hispana at the Vitcos Inca site, considered to be the last stronghold of the Incas.

After a fascinating day arriving to this incredible area, we head to camp where our trek team will have set up our tents and created a delicious dinner, fuel for our challenging trek day tomorrow.

An early start and a hot, full-filling breakfast awaits us this morning in preparation for our first day of trekking. We set off towards our high pass Asuntina 3915masl up through lush jungle vegetation pathways learning about the flora and fauna from our guide and heading higher and colder as we trek! Crossing Asuntina we have a great perspective of our glorious surroundings with high glacial peaks visible on the horizon before descending towards our campsite at Rak'achaca 3570masl.

Today is a remarkable day for photography with a real sense of remote trekking, getting away from it all in captivating surroundings. Our team will have forged ahead to prepare a hearty dinner. We will rest, dine and get an early night ready for tomorrows encounter with 3 high passes!

Good Morning! After a lovely breakfast we head out, ready and fit for today’s altitude challenge and in anticipation of the splendid mountain views we are going to have from our first pass of Yanacocha (4420m / 14500ft), then from our next pass Tullu Tacanca (4500m / 14760ft) and finally from our last pass Abra Mujun (4100m / 13450ft). The difficulty of the route is well worth the effort. The fabulous sense of isolation and vastness allows us quiet reflection on the majesty of our location. We will arrive to camp with a feeling of great satisfaction and achievement for what we have accomplished and witnessed along our journey.

Our final trek day and it’s all downhill from here! This morning we head to Yanatile village, as we walk, we will be happily reacquainted with the warmer climate and beautiful lush green valleys of Cusco’s lower elevations. We will pass fruit and coffee bean plantations and may even come across local colibris (hummingbirds) as we trek through this bountiful environment.

Our private transport will meet us at Yanatile to drive us on to Santa Teresa. Our route follows the course of the Vilcanota River to the Hydro Electric station where we'll take a train on to Aguas Calientes and our hotel for the evening. A hot shower, evening meal and a comfy bed is the order of the day. Rest well tonight the lost Citadel of the Incas is expecting us tomorrow.

Good Morning! Rested and enthusiastic for our ultimate day we have the option to relax this the morning or have a wander round the town.

Today we will lunch early in one of Aguas Calientes’ excellent restaurants in order to arrive to the Citadel in good time for our full afternoon tour. Accompanied by our guide, we take a 25 minute bus ride to the sanctuary of Machupicchu (2400m / 7874ft). Our guide will lead us in a tour of exploration and discovery of the many curious corners within this enigmatic Citadel. Our guided tour will have an average duration of 2 hours.

If you feel like you could take on another uphill challenge, you have the option to climb the famous mountain of Huayna Picchu this morning, pre afternoon tour. It is important to mention that to climb this mountain, you need to buy a separate ticket in advance. Please confirm that you want to make this climb at the time of making your booking with us. The trail consists of many steep narrow steps (not recommended for people who suffer vertigo), the height of the mountain is 2700m / 8858ft (the climb is 300 m.) We will climb Huayna Picchu at 10am. The route is around 3 hours round trip. We will then exit Machu Picchu citadel and have our lunch at Sanctuary Lodge just outside the entrance to the Citadel. After lunch we re-enter the citadel at 2pm for our guided tour of the citadel itself.

As the site closes for the day at 5:30pm we bus back down to Aguas Calientes. We then have a charming train journey back to Ollantaytambo and time to reflect on, quite possibly, one of the most amazing experiences of your life. Our private transport will be waiting to take us back to your hotel.

After a restful night, our final full day begins in the charming town of Ollantaytambo. We'll start by exploring its ancient Inca ruins, which sit high above the town, offering panoramic views of the Sacred Valley. The town itself, with its cobblestone streets and traditional adobe houses, is a perfect place to immerse yourself in the living history of the region. You’ll have time to wander the quaint streets, visit the local market, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of this iconic town.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to Cusco to explore its historic heart. Our first stop is the vibrant San Pedro Market, one of the city’s most authentic and colorful spots. The market is alive with energy—stalls overflowing with exotic fruits, freshly pressed juices, and traditional medicinal herbs that reflect the deep roots of local culture and daily life.

Next, we’ll make our way into the enchanting neighborhood of San Blas. Known for its cobbled streets, whitewashed walls, and sky-blue doors, San Blas is the artistic soul of Cusco. As you stroll through its picturesque lanes, you’ll discover a creative scene that blends tradition and innovation. The neighborhood is home to a thriving community of artists, including both local talent and international creatives who have made Cusco their home. Modern art stores and galleries showcase everything from vibrant contemporary works to finely crafted traditional pieces—each one offering a glimpse into the city’s diverse cultural expression.

To close the day, we’ll come together for a beautiful farewell lunch in one of Cusco’s most scenic and peaceful corners. This final meal is a time to relax, share stories from the road, and savor the flavors of Peru one last time. It’s not just a lunch—it’s a celebration of everything we've experienced, surrounded by the charm of the city and the timeless spirit of the Andes.
