Lace up your boots for an unforgettable trek to the stunning south face of Lanín Volcano. Our adventure begins at Puerto Canoa, near the crystal-clear waters of Huechulafquen Lake, where we set off on a well-marked trail through the vast pampa of radales. The first stretch offers breathtaking open views before we gradually ascend into a magnificent forest of coihues and ancient araucarias.

After about two hours, the trail becomes steeper as we navigate around an ancient volcanic slag, where the rugged terrain contrasts beautifully with the lush vegetation. Pushing forward, we reach our reward—a spectacular viewpoint of the hanging glacier on Lanín’s southern slope. This is the perfect spot to take in the grandeur of Patagonia while enjoying a well-earned lunch.

Refreshed and re-energized, we begin our descent, retracing our steps through the diverse landscapes back to the Hostería Refugio del Pescador, where a cozy evening and a well-deserved meal await.

After a delicious breakfast, we’ll set off for an exciting trip to San Martín de los Andes (approximately 2 hours). On the way, we’ll stop by Junín de los Andes to visit the breathtaking Vía Christi, a 2 km thematic park that brings to life key moments in the life of Jesus Christ. This extraordinary path features 23 stations blending Catholic and Mapuche traditions, created by the renowned architect and sculptor Alejandro Santana.

Along the way, you’ll be captivated by the stunning artistic and cultural elements, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Patagonian steppe.

Upon reaching San Martín de los Andes, we’ll check into our accommodation and enjoy some free time for lunch in town.

Departing San Martín de los Andes at around 9 AM, we drive the scenic 7 Lakes Route to the hill’s base. The first two hours of the hike take us through a beautiful forest, followed by an ascent above the tree line with stunning views. From the summit, enjoy a 360º panorama of lakes, including Hua Hum, Machonico, and Falkner, and peaks like Tronador Hill and Lanín Volcano. The descent takes 2.5 hours, and we return to town by vehicle, with unforgettable views in tow.

Today, we’ll drive through Parque Nacional Lanín toward the Chilean border, then cross Lago Pirihueico by ferry to reach the Huilo Huilo Reserve. Upon arrival at Puerto Fuy, we’ll meet and take a short drive to our charming hotel.

Nestled in the rainforest, Huilo Huilo is a 600 km² private biological reserve known for its lush climate and rich biodiversity, including 81 bird species and the elusive puma. After checking in, enjoy a delicious dinner and a restful night surrounded by nature’s beauty.

Today, we set off towards the Hua Hum International Pass, driving through Parque Nacional Lanín as we make our way to the Chilean border. After crossing Lago Pirihueico by ferry, we’ll arrive at the stunning Huilo Huilo Reserve.

Upon reaching Puerto Fuy, a short drive takes us to our charming hotel, nestled deep in the rainforest. Huilo Huilo spans over 600 km² of pristine wilderness, home to 81 bird species, lush vegetation, and even the elusive puma.

After settling in, enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful night surrounded by the magic of the Valdivian Rainforest.

We’ll set off early from the hotel, embarking on a 35 km round-trip ride with a total elevation gain of 1,000 meters. Challenging yet incredibly rewarding, this ride promises spectacular views and an unforgettable adventure. After the ride, unwind with a well-deserved afternoon of relaxation at the hotel spa.

Head south along a scenic inland road, following the lakeshores to the village of Ensenada (2h45, 180 km). Enjoy lunch at our rafting base before an exciting afternoon navigating the crystal-clear Class III rapids of the Petrohué River. After drying off, we’ll continue our journey to the remote village of Petrohué, home to our hotel for the next few nights. Nestled on the shores of Lake Todos los Santos in Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, Petrohué Lodge offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. End the day with a relaxing soak in the hot tub and a delicious dinner.

After breakfast, we pack our day bags and set off along the lake’s shores to hike the foothills of the region’s iconic landmark—Volcán Osorno, known for its perfect cone shape. Our goal is Paso Desolación, where breathtaking viewpoints offer panoramic vistas of Monte Tronador on the Argentine border and the vast expanse of the Southern Andes. Covering 15 km with approximately 900 meters of elevation gain, this rewarding trek concludes with a scenic return to the hotel by motorboat.

We’ll spend the day sea kayaking in Reloncaví Fjord, the northernmost fjord of Patagonia. Surrounded by the towering Andes as they plunge into the Pacific, we’ll glide through these pristine waters, taking in the stunning scenery.

Our paddle ends with a true Patagonian feast—curanto, a traditional dish from Chiloé. Prepared in a pit with hot stones, it’s a hearty mix of seafood, meat, potatoes, and vegetables, slow-cooked under layers of leaves and earth.
