Your journey begins in Lima, the country’s vibrant capital and one of the great culinary destinations in the world.Upon arrival, our team will meet you at the airport and accompany you to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax, recover from your journey, and settle into the rhythm of Peru.Tomorrow, we begin exploring Lima through its food, culture, history, and local life before heading into the Andes.Meals Included: —Accommodation: Hotel Boutique Lima-18 or similar.

DAY 2 - LIMA CITY AND GASTRONOMY EXPERIENCE

We pick you up in the morning from your hotel to have a fantastic cultural and culinary experience in the capital of the Country. This is a great tour to learn from Peruvian gastronomy, popular art, and the history of Lima. 
First, test your senses by tasting the local products in a local market. Visit Chinatown, the largest in South América, and taste some of the so special Peruvian-Chinese food. You will also take a walk in the Historic Centre of Lima observing its monuments and its elegant architecture. Then, you will meet a chef and visit his famous restaurant where you will be able to go in the kitchen to observe the making of ceviche, a great gastronomic experience!
Next, you will enjoy a walk around the streets of Barranco (described in the book “The City and the Dogs” by Mario Vargas Llosa), visit a private collection and some shops of the best Peruvian handicraft, coming from all the corners in Peru. Finally, visit a local restaurant to taste the well-known traditional Peruvian dessert called picarones, made of squash and sweet potato. 
We complete a full day in Lima with a walk in the Historic Centre, a culinary tour, and a shopping tour. The tour starts and ends in any hotel located in Miraflores or San Isidro.
Tonight we rest well after our busy city adventure for tomorrow we meet the Andes!

DAY 3 - WELCOME TO THE ANDES: PISAC EXPLORATION

After landing in Cusco, one of our representatives will be waiting at the airport to greet you and transfer you to the Sacred Valley. Rather than staying in Cusco, we’ll head straight into the valley, where the lower altitude and peaceful surroundings provide a gentler introduction to the Andes.Depending on your arrival time and energy levels, we can visit the archaeological site of Pisac, perched high above the valley. From here, we’ll explore the impressive Inca terraces, ancient pathways, ceremonial areas, and spectacular views stretching across the valley below.After visiting the ruins, we’ll walk downhill along old Inca trails, gradually making our way toward the town of Pisac. This is a wonderful way to experience the landscape at a slower pace, surrounded by the mountains and the remains of this remarkable Inca settlement.Once in Pisac, we’ll stop for lunch and enjoy some time exploring this charming Andean town before continuing to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.Start Height: 2 972 masl / 9 750 ft. DAY 4 - FARM AND FOOD WITH HUALLAFARA COMMUNITY

This is a special day to learn about Cusco and the Sacred Valley gastronomy, discovering the amazing variety of local agricultural resources and biodiversity, to later put into practice the cooking lessons at La Base Lamay.We will drive you first to Lamay to then continue towards the community of Huayllafara. The locals will take us to visit their farms with traditional crops (like potatoes, oca, anu, tarwi, quinoa, beans among others) and will teach us about their traditional farming techniques, while we taste their local produceThen we will visit a garden with veggies, lately incorporated into the local gastronomic offer. We will learn about the local culture and their daily activities, according to the time of year and the agricultural calendar. The tour and interpretation will be focused on the agricultural and food processing techniques, such as the preparation of chuño and moraya, the washing and uses of quinoa, elaboration of Chicha de Jora, and other interesting Andean activities. Finally, we will return to La Base Lamay for the cooking lessons..The idea is to prepare Peruvian classic recipes and use the native products in the cooking process. To encourage the spirit, we will prepare pisco sour or enjoy a Pisco tasting session. End of the activity and return to your hotel.Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch.Accommodation: Sacred Valley Hotel.

DAY 5 - SHORT INCA TRAIL: FROM KM 104 TO THE SUN GATE

We will take the train from Ollantaytambo train station to Km 104, where the short Inca Trail starts. The valley turns into a canyon and the scenery begins to alter as the cloud forests appear on our approach to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. We will disembark the train at Km 104 and start the hike along a quite challenging uphill path.  This ancient Inca Trail takes us uphill all the way to the magnificent archeological complex of Wiñay Wayna, from where there are many steep steps to climb to reach the upper part of the Archaeological Site. Here we find a fabulous sense of peace far from the crowds. with superb views of the imposing verdant mountains and native orchids. The trail now becomes gentler, continuing all the way to the Sun Gate, where we arrive to Machu Picchu through its real entrance. It is from here that we will have our first glimpse of the Machu Picchu citadel. We then cross the site to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes town and check in to our lodge to rest and relax, in anticipation of a full afternoon tour tomorrow. DAY 6 - MACHU PICCHU & A QUIET AFTERNOON IN OLLANTAYTAMBO

We’ll start early this morning and make our way to Machu Picchu, taking the first part of the day to explore one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological sites.After breakfast, we’ll take the bus up to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.Accompanied by our expert guide, we’ll spend the morning exploring the ancient citadel, walking among its temples, terraces, and extraordinary stonework while learning about the history, stories, and mysteries of this remarkable place. Take your time to absorb the incredible setting and the views that surround Machu Picchu.After our visit, we’ll take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Then, it’s time to board the train and begin our journey back to Ollantaytambo, arriving in the afternoon with time to relax and enjoy the rest of the day at our hotelMeals included: Breakfast & Lunch.Accommodation: El Albergue de Ollantaytambo or similar

DAY 7 - DISCOVERING OLLANTAYTAMBO AND BACK TO CUSCO

We’ll start the morning slowly, taking our time to enjoy a peaceful day in the charming little town of Ollantaytambo. We’ll wander through its ancient streets before visiting the impressive archaeological site, where enormous stone terraces and ceremonial structures tell the story of one of the most fascinating places in the Sacred Valley.After exploring Ollantaytambo, we’ll return to El Albergue Hotel for a traditional Pachamanca, an ancient Andean feast cooked underground with hot stones. Using fresh ingredients from the lodge’s own garden, we’ll gather around the Pachamanca and enjoy a true taste of the Andes — a meal that is as much about sharing and tradition as it is about food.After lunch, we’ll have time to enjoy a few local Peruvian spirits and take in the surroundings before making our way back to Cusco in the afternoon.A slower day to enjoy the valley, good food, Andean traditions, and the simple pleasure of taking our time.Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch. DAY 8 - CUATRO LAGUNAS: RIDE OR PADDLE

We’ll start the day with a scenic drive into the highlands, where wide-open skies, rolling puna landscapes, and sparkling lakes set the stage for a day of outdoor adventure.In the Cuatro Lagunas valley, you can choose how you’d like to explore the landscape: by mountain bike or stand-up paddleboard. If you choose the bike, you can ride an e-bike or a full-suspension mountain bike. The route is mostly a gentle and smooth descent, making it an enjoyable and accessible ride for most experience levels. We’ll pass turquoise lakes, herds of llamas, and striking volcanic rock formations, with a support vehicle nearby should you prefer to hop in and simply enjoy the views.If you’d rather be on the water, we’ll take to the lake on a stand-up paddleboard, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and the incredible Andean scenery from a different perspective.After our morning adventure, we’ll enjoy lunch by the lake, surrounded by the open Andean landscape. Then we’ll make our way to Hacienda Chuquiccahuana, a beautifully restored colonial estate tucked away in a quiet valley, where we can slow down and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.Tonight, we’ll stay at Hacienda Chuquiccahuana, positioning ourselves closer to Waqrapukara for tomorrow’s trek. DAY 9 - WAQRAPUKARA TREK: EXPLORE THE HIDDEN INCA FORTRESS AND MAJESTIC CANYONS

A hearty breakfast is the order of the day to fuel us up for our spectacular trek today. We have a short drive to our drop-off point, the small town of Santa Lucia, ready to begin our full-day hike of 9 km. Our route utilizes some of the best and most remote trek paths in the area, staying away from the more popular ways to approach this archeological site, and providing us with a road less traveled.The hike takes us through steep, sweeping canyons either side of the Apurimac River, surrounded by gigantic, incredible rock formations that appear to defy gravity. The views are nothing short of majestic, this is nature at her best and the brave ones among us will have the opportunity to approach the lookout points for awe-inspiring full views of the canyon along our hike.  The little-known pre-Inca and Inca site of Waqrapukara or “Horn-Shaped Fortress” is an astonishing example of unfathomable Inca masonry techniques, that simultaneously combines and complements the natural advantageous aspects of natural rock formations, with their incredible engineering and architectural skills.  Again, we are off the beaten track with little presence of other travelers. We arrive with time to allow us to comprehend the overwhelming, incomparable natural beauty and death-defying engineering, it is truly a sight to behold. Tonight, we have the privilege to camp right next to the archaeological site. DAY 10 - WAQRAPUKARA: EXPLORING ANCIENT INCA SANCTUARIES

Waking up to breathtaking views of this ancient Inca fortress this wonderful morning, we seize the opportunity to take our time, chill out and explore the site. Archaeologist Miguel Cornejo said of this site “Waqrapukara is an Inca sanctuary of the first order that denotes immense political and religious power, as-yet undeciphered”. We will share a beautiful lunch at our campsite prepared by our trek cooks before we set off on our return trek this afternoon. Walking a new route onwards out of the site we discover yet more hidden Inca sites as we trek 7.7 km today towards the community of Huayqui to meet our private transport to head back to Cusco.  Start Height: 4 104m / 13 464 ft.Maxi Height: 4 135m / 13 566 ft.Approximate Walking time: 7 - 8 hrs. Distance travelled: 7.3 km / 4.5 ml.Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Together, we will explore the fascinating mix of Inca and Spanish history, discovering some of the city’s most remarkable landmarks and hidden corners on foot.Tonight, we gather for our final dinner in Cusco, a special evening to celebrate the journey, the places we have explored, and the experiences we have shared along the way.Meals Included: Final DinnerAccommodation: Hotel in Cusco
